100% don’t shy away from bold statements and style. In recent times, they seem to have taken over the Peloton, helped by one of the biggest players in the game; Peter Sagan. This guy oozes style and swagger every time he rides or steps onto the podium. The S2’s shout style, keeping the brand on-point.

The S2’s pack a ton of features; lots of coverage, low bulk, interchangeable lenses, ventilation to prevent fogging and slick Ultra-HD, hard-coated, scratch-resistant lenses with increased peripheral view and protection. Italy, the icons of style, make the frames. The included HiPER lens uses fancy technology to increase contrast and colour. This increases detail and depth perception and really makes the road ‘pop’. Having a clear replacement lens included is a huge bonus, in my opinion.

On the bike, they feel quite minimal (with the frame) but offer good coverage. And, despite the larger footprint they’re pretty light. They don’t feel bulky or heavy when out riding and the full wrap frame works well. I like the fact that you don’t see any of the frame when you have these shades on.

This is especially important when you’re in an aggressive riding position; they sit close to your forehead, so you don’t see out of the top of them. The coverage, and minimal frame obstruction, is impressive. 100% uses a hydrophobic and oleophobic coating on its lenses. That means the lenses should repel water and oil; I found them to be pretty good in rain showers. Talking about rain for a second – the replaceable lenses where ideal. They’re a little hard to switch out at first, but once I read the manual and got used to changing them back and forth it was pretty simple. I’ve been running theclear lens more often than not. The sun hasn’t been out much lately and most of my rides feature some rougher terrain, so having clear sunglasses offer eye protection from the dirt.

The vision the 100% S2’s provide is limitless, and they have superb peripheral vision too, great protection and supreme fit. If you’re about style and swagger then these shades could be for you.
